Song: Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) by Hillsong United
As the Word of God is a living text, people have different ways of interpreting these texts. So, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below! Remember to like and share on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!
“Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.’”
– Joshua 3:4 NIV
…for you have not passed this way before.
Today I would like to talk to you about new adventures.
I’m a Man vs. Wild fan. Every time Bear Grylls sets out on a new adventure, I would be fascinated by how Man was able to live in the wild with just simple tools.
Some of the survival advice he gives are applicable to our everyday lives. As a general rule of thumb, Bear traverses slowly in a new, unfamiliar place.
Similarly, when we’re facing new obstacles, we should watch our every step as well.
There are two problems which arises when we keep facing new obstacles every day:
- We‘re too tired to have the same focus as we did on day one.
- We’re distracted by other things going on in our lives
That’s when God steps in.
This Is How God Steps in to Prepare the Way
“giving orders to the people: ‘When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.”
– Joshua 3:3 NIV
The ark of the covenant of the Lord set out before Israel.
In uncertain times, God goes before you to make a way.
Not only that, God is also beside you guiding you through because He is an omnipresent God.
That’s because you have not passed this way before; God will traverse ahead of you to make sure you’re all good.Tweet
But there is something significant you need to realize: You can’t get too close.
“However, there shall be a distance between you and it of about 2,000 cubits (3,000 ft.) by measurement. Do not come near it,”
God needs flex space. Flex space is a term used for lightly zoned buildings. It is mainly used when referring to industrial or office space.
That means it’s a space for things to move in, a space to work with, a space for progress.
How Do You Give God Flex Space?
That’s the wrong question to ask. It’s not something you can do, but something that happens.
Flex space is created when you face situations in your life where you need God to move. The fact of the matter is, we need God every day of our lives, it’s just a matter of whether we’d give Him the time of day.
Call to Action
Seek God every day. Ask Him to intervene in your everyday. Pray that He moves specifically in the little things.
God bless you and create some space for Him to move! 💪💪
