A Better You: Bless Others to Bless Yourself – Joshua 2:8-14

Song of the Week

Song: Holy Ground (Acoustic) by Hillsong UNITED

As the Word of God is a living text, people have different ways of interpreting these texts. So, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below! Remember to like and share on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

The spies didn’t say “you can only bring 3 of your closest loved ones. So, if you’re a family of five, I’m sorry but one of you has got to go.”

No! God doesn’t set a limit on your blessings. Instead, God’s blessings don’t run out like His love and grace for us.

So, what’s good of an infinite source if you enjoy its fruits alone? Learn to share the favor of God to the people around you, with those who love you and with those that don’t.

Embody an agape love where you seek the benefit of others despite your feelings towards them.

Anxious That What You Have Is Not Enough?

You may feel anxious about sharing your blessings from God with other people because it is your gift.

Yet, that is not how God called us to live.

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever.”[a]

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

– 2 Corinthians 9:8-11 NIV

In fact, not sharing your blessings when God prompts you to will give you no peace of mind in the future.

Sharing what you deem as valuable to you to help people in need is a step towards personal development.

When you’re afraid you’ll run out you’ll start to have faith and trust God. Trust God that He will supply all that you need. Trust God that even if you do run out, God will deliver.

Building your faith like this will lead you into the purposeful life God has called you to live.

Prophetic Word

People around you may be after the blessings that you just received from God.

Trust God in this season. If God is telling you to give, give. If God is telling you to withhold, withhold.

Be a blessing to other people but don’t let people take advantage of you.

Call to Action

Do this mindfulness activity:

Is there something in your life, no matter how big or small, that I can use to make someone’s day/week/month better?

If so, pray to God and seek God’s favor when you do it. May it is a holy sacrifice to God, one that is pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.

God bless you and have a great week!
