Song: Build My Life by Housefires

As the Word of God is a living text, people have different ways of interpreting these texts. So, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below! Remember to like and share on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

9 and said to them, ‘I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you.”

– Joshua 2:9 NIV

The hearts of the people of Jericho melted when they heard about the Israelites.

It’s quite ironic to me. The spies were trapped in the city of Jericho, yet it was the people of Jericho who has anxious hearts.

The spies gave their enemies no peace of mind. Do you want to give your enemies no peace of mind too?

Managing Your Emotions

It’s funny how we don’t think about managing our emotions when everything’s going fine. I for one am guilty of that.

Of course, that doesn’t mean to intentionally mess up the blessings in your life from God just to feel something. Cherish every good and wonderful that God has breathed into your life.

So when the bad times come, you remind yourself that God’s goodness is always coming, always renewing.

In Joshua 2:9, the goodness God showed the Israelites is to put anxiety in their enemies’ hearts.

How Can This Help Me?

When you’re in the middle of an emotional crisis that has something to do with people, the way to manage it is to look upward. Look unto God for divine intervention.

Technically most events are related to people. The events I had in mind are when there are external parties directly involved such as interviews, presentations, a doctor’s appointment, or family tensions.

What people do and how people feel are beyond your control, but not God’s. I wouldn’t want to have it any other way: To have an omnibenevolent God who is always looking out for me to create outcomes that are for me.

When you set aside your fears of how other people will react, you are stepping into a purposeful life.

Prophetic Word

You might be going through a situation where there will be a lot of confrontations or presentations, but put your hope in God and you will get through this.

Putting your hope in God means you stop worrying about what you can do to control other people and start focusing on the things that you can do.

God will bless what you sow.

Call to Action

Are you facing something right now?

If you are, I urge you to turn your heart towards heaven now. Focus on God. Listen to some worship music, and worship along.

When your mind is on God’s goodness, you don’t have time to worry.

God bless you and worship God!
