As the Word of God is a living text, people have different ways of interpreting these texts. So, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below! Remember to like and share on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

When the two spies went into Jericho, someone snitched on them.

“2 The king of Jericho was told, ‘Look, some of the Israelites have come here tonight to spy out the land.’”

– Joshua 2:2 NIV

Sometimes in life, there are going to be people snitching on you, talking bad about you behind your back, backstabbing you, trying to bring you down, trying to insult you, belittle you… The list goes on.

There’s bound to be someone who wants to undermine you. It’s inevitable. No matter how lovely of a person you are (or you think to be). No matter how many favors you do for people. No matter how gorgeous you are.

Look at Jesus. He was the perfect example of the spotless lamb; never sinned, never harmed. Still, the Pharisees still tried to hate Him.

If people will hate on Jesus, they’re bound to hate on you.

What If People like Me?

Well, if people continued to hate Jesus for doing what’s right, and nobody’s hating on you… I have something to tell you…

If everybody likes you, you’re doing something wrong, ironically.

In this world, we can’t base our actions off of what people say and do.

Why? Because we are all innately flawed.

If everyone likes you, it seems like you’re compromising on your Godly values to make room for secular values that this fallen world admires.

What Do I Do When People Hate Me Even When I’m Doing the Right Thing?

Stop.

No, I don’t mean stop doing what is good. I mean to stop caring about their opinions.

I know it’s way easier said than done.

But, one thing that helps me is to know that God is going to avenge me.

If you look at Joshua and the spies, people tried to get them, but people still tried to harm them, God avenged the spies. (In Joshua 6, the city of Jericho fell.

God avenged the people who were trying to carry out God’s purpose. He took care of those who stood in the way of God’s purpose for them.

Similarly, God is going to make a way for you to fulfill His purpose for you.

Take heart, God is going with you.

Call to Action

Don’t be disheartened that people don’t like you for doing the right thing. Keep on keeping on.

Remember this key principle: Whatever you do now is bigger than you.

God will reward you in the future for your faithfulness now. He’s going to bless you, and your family, and your children, and their children. He’s going to touch lives that you’d never even think of because of your faithfulness.

Apart from that, for those who are not experiencing any hate form people, maybe you’re doing something wrong?

It could also be the Lord’s favor for you.

God bless you and dig deep.
