Bible Study: Judges 7 #3 – God is Always Working

Song Of The Week

Song: King of My Heart by Steffany Gretzinger & Jeremy Riddle (on Bethel Music)

Mood: Worship

Tastes: Sweet

What to Do When You Had a Bad Day?

Ever had one of those days where your colleagues pick on you at work and your boss skips accuses you of something? Then, when you get home, your kids are driving crazy and your spouse is unreasonable?

Have you ever had a bad day?

No, when I say bad day, I don’t mean a-mildly-inconvenient-and-irritating day. I mean a bad day.

A day that got you wondering: Maybe this isn’t a day the Lord made.

A day, simply put it, that was downright horrible.

But somehow, by the miraculous Grace of God, you don’t explode at the end of it all. All you were clinging onto for the whole day was this one thing: The bus came on time.

But it didn’t just come on its own. You were already having a bad day in the office, so at the end of work, you prayed in your heart, “Oh so help me, God, please let the bus come on time. Please! Today is not a good day for me to miss this!”

And it does.

He answered your very simple prayer.

The truth is that God has already been working things even before you prayed for them. God works all the time. God works even though life goes on. God never stops working.

Sometimes, all we need in order to receive that breakthrough is to pray for it. It’s the act of opening your hands.

Judges 7:13 is just one example of God working simultaneously.

“When Gideon arrived, there was a man telling a dream to his friend. And he said, ‘Listen carefully, I had a dream: there was a loaf of barley bread tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down so that the tent lay flat.’”

– ‭‭Judges‬ ‭7:13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

In the midst of Gideon worrying and mulling about losing people, God was working on bringing down His enemies!

God will lift you up while bringing down those who dishonor Him, those who disobey Him.

So, keep praying because God is always working.

He’s working when you feel it, He’s working when you don’t.

He’s working when you see it, He’s working when you don’t.

He’s working when you are faithful, He’s working when you doubt.

So, what do you do when He delivers you, especially when you didn’t even know what to pray for?

“When Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down in worship. Then he returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the LORD has given the camp of Midian into your hand.””

– Judges‬ ‭7:15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Call To Action

Keep on praying for your situation to turn around but don’t manipulate God. It’s only human to work for the desires of our hearts, sometimes, no matter what it takes.

Take heart and keep faith. Believe that God has His perfect way of turning your situation around. It may not be what you’ve envisioned, but it will definitely be better if you keep faith.

Everyday is a day the Lord has made.

God is faithful, even when you’re not.
