Bible Study: Whoever You Were – John 3:16 #2

Song Of The Week

Song: Heart Of God by Hillsong Young & Free

Mood: Loving

Tastes: Refreshing

Do You Want To Feel Loved?

…that whoever believes in him shall have everlasting life.

Do you ever feel like you’re worthless? Like you’re unworthy of love?

Well, my friend, we’ve all been through that before.

In fact, I believe we’re all in that place. I don’t think it’s a place we can ever truly escape. But just like an open ditch in the ground, when we look upward to see the skies, be reminded that every little bird that flies past has the protection of God. Wouldn’t your Father in heaven care much more for His beloved creation, the ones that He put in charge of this Earth?

“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

– Matthew 6:26

Anyone who believes in Him will be saved. It doesn’t matter who you are or who you were, so long as you believe that He is your savior with all of your heart, with all of your soul, and with all of your strength, that He is indeed God Almighty from above, then do I have good news for you! You can be saved! You are saved! God can turn your situation around only if you believe Him.

Rahab was known as the most beautiful woman in all of Israel. She was also one of the most successful prostitutes in her time. Yet, in the time that God called her, she answered with all her heart.

She became a part of God’s kingdom because of her faithfulness. She was known as one of the most faithful people in the Bible.

“By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.”

– Hebrews 11:31

John was talking about those who are in Heaven’s Hall Of Faith.

Judas was one of God’s disciples. Even though He knew Judas was going to betray Him, Jesus still loved Judas like one of His own sheep.

God loves you immeasurably. So much so that we can’t even begin to understand the extent of His love for us. It’s as if the fuel in which we progress is the Love of God – from above or from other lamps.

There’s another group of people I would like to address. Those who have already accepted the call to salvation. Yet, you still feel unloved and undeserving. It is only human to feel that way. I, for one, feel that way so very often. What helped me is not to turn away from God, but instead, with tenacity, inquire of the Lord.

I love how Pastor Robert Made put it in his sermon Get Out! when he drew the correlation between speaking with the supervisor when you receive poor customer service to God as the ultimate supervisor of your life.

Although chasing after people whom you feel don’t love you seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy, chasing after the heart of God is different. God loves it when we chase after him in any and every way.

Call To Action

Love people the way God has loved you. From all backgrounds, in all shapes and sizes, everyone’s sole purpose is to love and be loved. That’s ultimately the reason we’re here on Earth. It’s what helps us wake up in the morning. And when we can’t wake up in the morning, it’s a symptom of a shortage of places/people to love.

Love like Jesus. Of course, you can’t completely be like Jesus, but it’s your intentions that matter.

God bless you and start loving now!
